Product Details

Machined from a solid bar of brass, the cap and barrel of this Gravitas Pocket feel smooth rather than polished, thanks to specialized cutting knives and precision lathes that leave the parts at a machined polish texture. It's a pocket pen for people who are always moving. The upgrade version skips the passivated coating on the brass*, so the raw metal is exposed and free to develop patina through natural oxidation. Handle it for a few months and it becomes uniquely yours.

*Brass naturally develop wear marks and color changes with regular use. In the process of packing we handle these writing instruments which may arrive on your side with more or less visible patina - this is a natural process which doesn't consist in a call on warranty or replacement.

Cap seal and posting both benefit from a Delrin sleeve, and the cap runs on ACME threads. Triple-start threading means it unscrews in a quick 1.5 turns. A flat facet machined into one side keeps the pen from rolling off a desk. Post the cap and you're writing with a full-sized instrument.

The 25mm-long section tapers from 11.85mm to 9.8mm and is made from Stainless steel 304. Micro-machined grooves along it give you a secure, comfortable grip.

Nib choices run from Extra Fine through Fine, Medium and Broad, all Gravitas-made size 6 steel with an ABS plastic feeder, compatible* with Jowo No. 6 threads. A standard small international cartridge converter is included.

*when swapping for a different nib unit you are sole responsible for checking the fitment of the new nib - we are not responsible for any damages that may occur from the use of non gravitas nibs/nib units.

Expect the brass to darken where your fingers sit most, which is half the appeal for daily carry.
