Roy Conklin, working out of Toledo, Ohio, patented the first self-filling pen in 1897, and that Crescent Filler™ design turned a small company into one of the names that shaped American writing instruments. Mark Twain lent his approval — and his name — as official spokesperson for the Conklin® brand.
Four resin finishes make up the line: the Limited Edition Clear Demo, Black Chase, Vintage Green and Vintage Blue, trimmed in rose gold, gold or silver. This one is Black Chase with rosegold trim. Look at the band and you'll find Twain's signature engraved there, and the spring loaded rocker clip up top is the original Conklin® design patented in 1916. It holds onto a pocket, jacket or coat without fuss.
Six cushion point steel nibs are offered: Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Stub and Omniflex. Pick the one that matches how you write and the pen does the rest.
