Platinum IZUMO Tamenuri Rhodium Plated Ebonite Fountain Pen

Traditional Tamenuri lacquer work sits in layered coats of vermilion-toned urushi over an ebonite body, and the semi-transparent topcoat slowly clears as you use it, so the dark barrel opens up into warmer, deeper color year after year. Hold it to the light and you can already see the depth waiting underneath.

Ebonite gives the pen its weight and warmth in the hand. Urushi brings that moist, smooth feel that only real lacquer has. This version pairs the warm lacquer tones with a new Rhodium-plated finish, a cool silver note that sets off the vermilion contrast nicely. Writer's tip: the more you write, the more the pen shows it.
