Few modern figures get as many symbolic details packed into a pen as John F. Kennedy does here. Blue precious resin covers the body, a colour that points to two things at once: Kennedy's service in the U.S. Navy and the Ivy League look of his era.
His initials, "JFK", are engraved on the platinum-coated clip. Three platinum-coated cap rings wrap the top, one for each of Kennedy's brothers. The Apollo space program gets its own mark too, since the handcrafted 585 gold nib is engraved with the lunar module that landed on the moon in 1969.
A Montblanc emblem in precious resin crowns the cap. Screw cap, piston filling. History buffs and pen collectors tend to see different things in it, which is half the fun.
