The Piston Carbon is the first fountain pen from Gravitas with a piston filling mechanism. It's a system the brand has tried and tested before adding it to the lineup, built to spec for smooth action and a generous ink capacity.
One rod of pultruded carbon fiber gets machined into the barrel and cap, left raw with a satin texture. The section, piston knob and trim rings come from Grade 5 Titanium, PvD coated in black.
The exposed carbon fibre shows a unique, random visual pattern with a wood grain-like tactile feel; irregularities come with the material and are its natural state.
An ink window lets you check the level at a glance. At the heart sits a Size #8 steel nib, PvD coated to match the black, paired with a Nikko ebonite feed for consistent ink flow.
What sets it apart is the material, the stealth look and the limited run. Only 500 numbered pieces exist, so collectors will want to move on this one.
