"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."
— H. P. Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu
That passage sets the tone here. Lovecraft's The Call of Cthulhu deals in the romance of the unknown and the fragile border between what we can explain and what lies past imagination.
The same feeling lives in Davao City on Mindanao, my adopted home. Ancient mountains slide into veils of mist up there, forests whisper stories older than memory, and dark rivers curve toward the open ocean. Mystery has always been part of the quiet beauty of that land.
The pen is a nod to that mystery.
Not to the darkness Lovecraft dreamed up alone, but to the nerve it takes to stand at the edge of the unfamiliar and stare into the infinite; curiosity, the humility of not knowing, quiet fascination with a world that keeps its secrets. For anyone who finds poetry in shadows, beauty in the unfamiliar, and endless possibility on a blank page.
May it ride along on your next trip past the familiar.

Gioia and @pensandturquoisebrown built the Cthulhu together, and the horror sits right on the surface. Zogg Analog green resin forms the body, while the lower barrel is luminescent and glows in the dark. Gold-plated trims run through the fittings, and the screw cap carries a custom band engraved with an octopus leg, a tribute to the cosmic entity itself. A stainless steel nib handles the writing. Collectors who like their tools otherworldly will find plenty to look at.
