A solid black finish isn't easy to get right. Namiki reaches it with Roiro Urushi Shiage, the traditional method of layering raw lacquer and hand-polishing with special charcoal until the surface turns lustrous and refined. The result on the Yukari Royale is a deep, quiet black that holds up to daily handling.
Writing performance gets the same care. The 18K gold #20 nib sits at the front of an urushi body, and the screw cap keeps everything secured between sessions. Filling runs on cartridge or converter, with the CON-70 converter included in the box.
