Take the Preppy's dependable core and dress it in something more grown-up, and you get the Platinum Prefounte. The translucent resin body comes in subdued hues, with minimalist graphics and a metal clip that holds to a shirt pocket without fuss. Its stainless steel nib carries a special alloy tip, and the Slip & Seal Mechanism keeps ink from drying out for up to one year between sessions. Good first fountain pen, or just a quiet everyday one.
