There's a firmness to Sailor's 1911L that sets it apart from softer gold-nibbed pens. The 18-karat gold nib is a large one, and it writes with a distinct feel — precise, controlled, less springy than some rivals. Big nib, steady hand.
That pearlescent barrel is the other draw. Light catches the glitter in the finish and the whole pen shifts as you turn it. Four colours are on offer: black, red, blue or green. Refilling works either way, cartridge or converter.
