The "Unkai" closes out Platinum's #3776 CENTURY Fuji Unkei Series. Its subject is the sea of clouds that gathers around Mt. Fuji in the quiet early morning.

Limited and numbered to just 1,500 pieces worldwide, the #3776 CENTURY Fuji Unkei "Unkai" builds its picture from transparent resin, lens-cut faceting, engraved detail and Platinum's first bicolor #3776 look for the Fuji Unkei line. Tilt the barrel toward the light and those layers seem to drift and shimmer like clouds at sunrise.

Cap and grip shades were picked to suggest the mountainside lit by the rising autumn and winter sun, and the carved, transparent barrel carries the flowing depth of the cloud banks themselves.

Each pen ships with a special 20ml bottle of "Fuji-no-Ebizome" ink, drawn from the grape-red twilight hues that settle over Mt. Fuji as evening falls. On paper the ink shifts between reddish-purple and green undertones depending on the light.
