Gravitas Monster Fountain Pen in Aluminum Red with Ultem Barrel

Monster sounds heavy. It isn't. Gravitas shaped this one around the well-known Vac silhouette, then smoothed and rebalanced every line until the pen felt right in the hand. The body is red aluminum, paired with an Ultem barrel and a #8 stainless steel Gravitas nib.

The real talking point sits inside. Designer Ben Walsh borrowed from medical valve technology to build the proprietary filling system, which relies on specialized sealing parts and a custom quad ring to keep everything lubricated while pushing ink through efficiently. Grade 5 titanium and an Ultem barrel are behind the impressive 7ml capacity, and each plunge delivers a solid volume of ink, so longer writing sessions don't get interrupted.
