Gravitas Dinkey Fountain Pen in Mokume Gane Brass and Copper

The Dinkey is a small, pocketable fountain pen, and with this version the real story is the metal it's built from. Gravitas has brought in a set of materials that hadn't appeared in the lineup before, and mokume-gane sits at the front of that group.

Mokume-gane is an old Japanese process: layers of metal get fused into a sandwich of alloys, which leaves a pattern that reads like woodgrain. Here it's brass and copper together, and the result is one of the more eye-catching finishes Gravitas offers.

Inside, the cap is lined with Delrin so posting won't scuff the barrel, and the section itself is copper. An o-ring sits at the threading point where the section meets the body. Threading on the section also lets you fit a Jowo size #6 nib unit (standard steel Jowo nib).

Writing end is a Gravitas steel nib in extra fine, fine, medium, broad, or elastic fine, fed by a standard plastic feeder. A custom-designed plastic tube houses the pen, which keeps the whole thing slim and pocket friendly.
