Dark blue resin sets the scene on this Meisterstück LeGrand, another chapter in Montblanc's Jules Verne tribute. Details pulled straight from "Around the World in 80 Days" run across the body and cap.
Start with the etched train on the cap. Safety chain patterns work their way around it, and the clip carries a red heart suit — each one tied to a turning point in the story. Then there's the nib: hand-crafted 14K gold, engraved with the dates that bracket Phileas Fogg's 80-day run from Yokohama to London.
Collectors tend to notice the engraving first. Writers tend to notice how the whole thing balances in hand. Either way, it's literary passion and fine craftsmanship in one pen.
